Tulum
My first trip to Mexico was to the beautiful city of Tulum because I am not counting my college Cancun trip because I don’t remember it because I think I was drunk the whole time! I think but I don’t know because I was drunk
But I am going to give you the Top 5 reasons why I loved Tulum...
1. The locals were extremely friendly! I even invited a few locals to my boutique hotel rooftop pool to have a few shots and a few drinks. Ok more than a few but who’s counting?!? I’m not in Cancun.
I am from NYC /NJ and we call every Latino/ Latina papi or Mami. I didn’t hear it once while I was in Tulum. Ok maybe I did every time I said it lol
2. You can ball on a budget there! I swear to God! I had a mortgage of pesos in my pockets. The last night I was trying to spend all the money I had left on drinks and shots. I see a recurring theme lol lol lol Oh wait and some souvenirs so mom can brag at bingo about all the places her son has been lol
3. I loved walking the streets with locals, swimming in the cenotes, and dancing in the streets with random Mexican women! Well it’s their home so I guess I was the random lol lol
4. I had real tacos... I swear when I ordered from some local spot and my tacos came out.. I was in American mode like where’s the pico, where’s the shredded cheese and where’s the got damn sour cream! No, but those tacos with whatever meat or poultry and sauce was rocking. I swear if someone’s mother was around I would have slapped them because that’s how good they were... Just not my mom because her hand game is strong... lol
5. The tequila tastes so much better with my papi and mamis in Mexico...
Yes I did get a lot of culture which is why I travel abroad so much but I was sharing my main reasons for loving Tulum lol lol and not just drink. Ok I visited the Mayans ruins and Cobá etc. etc. etc.
