Driving in Ireland
I took a quick trip to Ireland and I loved it very much. I didn’t do any research at all. I mean I did a google scan on my iPhone lol So let me tell you what I wasn’t ready for when I landed in Dublin....
1. So the night before my trip I clean out my wallet and for strange weird reason I leave my chase sapphire card out of my wallet but leave my discover in! No big deal right! Yeah right until it’s time to rent a car and they look at you like we don’t take that card mannnn! Oh ok well here’s my debit card and yeah they are gonna hold 1000 euro!! Oh well but I want to go to Belfast, Kilkenny and see the Giant Causeway! Just take the damn card! If I did a tad bit more research I would have known no Discover and no Amex!
2. Driving on the left side is a whole experience within itself. I may have made a few bad turns here and there. I may have been run off the road by impatient drivers and I may have just been so frustrated that I just the left the car somewhere and ubered! Left side driving, right side steering wheel! Wtf lol lol
3. The Irish Can drink drink! If you know me you know I talk to everyone! So I was talking to this Irish Gent and he happened to be the owner of the pub I was soliciting! I had no idea because he was buying drinks and actually paying euros out of his wallet! He says Sean all your drinks are on me but 1 catch you have to keep up with me drinking... No thanks sir!! I’ve been here a few days, I know how y’all get down. Mofos will drink you under the house!!! I’ll buy my own
4. Food is trash!!! Ok it isn’t trash but it’s garbage. I searched far and wide! High and low and all I found was plate after plate of I don’t want anymore!!! Lol
5. I wasn’t ready for personal space invaders! I found local pubs and they were a lot of fun! Singing and drinking pints but I grew up in the hood ask before you put your arm around me or talk face to face. I need warning lol lol
But to be honest! It was a short trip indeed! I didn’t know what to expect coming to Ireland. I really didn’t! I don’t like answering the question of what has been my favorite place of travel. But I must say Ireland is on top of the list for this very reason!! The people were absolutely wonderful to ya boy!! As a solo traveler you are always looking for a friendly face!! In Ireland there are sooooo many friendly faces!!! Food is trash though! Peace out Ireland but I will be back.
