Cruising to the Bahamas
So I’ve traveled to over 30 plus countries and if you follow my post you know I love being with the locals and getting lost. So I got up one day and was like I’m going to try a cruise. So I chose a short one to the Bahamas to see if I would like cruising. I feel like I just didn’t do it right.... but I left saying never again and here’s why...
1. The Room: I know for sure I picked the wrong damn room. I thought I was doing something with the Ocean view. Man that shit was tight. I could turn the tv on, turn the shower on and open the door with my feet while lying in the bed. Was I slumming it?
2. The Entertainment. I was hitting the ship club every night. Partying and dancing because I like to dance. I do a mean 2 step with a teach me how to Dougie moves attached. But the 2nd and 3rd night I knew which songs were coming next, why was there a DJ when it was basically a cd on repeat every night. Did I play myself for going to that club every damn night?
3. Feeling Stuck: I felt stuck!! I like to blaze a trail when I’m on a trip, and walking from the ship’s pool to its casino isn’t the same. I want to wander the streets of a city, hitting the open roads and exploring the countryside are things I absolutely love about traveling. Did I come in with the wrong expectations?
4. The Culture: Probably my favorite aspect of traveling is experiencing other cultures and immersing myself in them. Whether that be finding locals-only restaurants, hitting the markets, or just walking the streets, I don’t want to spend my trip with the 40-year-old rapper from NJ/NYC. I’m from NY/NJC. I don’t want to buy your CD. I lost my CD player in 2002. Did I pick the wrong cruise?
5. Feeling Dumb: I didn’t realize what happens on a ship stays on a ship! Ladies were definitely feeling me and complimenting me and I was trying to be the perfect gentleman. I thought I made some connections. I text one of the ladies after the cruise saying what’s up and she was like “boo I’m back home now, and I don’t have time or energy for a long distance, you should have made your move on the boat? Did I pack condoms not to use them?
